Stunning 2014 Fender Masterbuilt ’52 Telecaster in a beautifully aged White Blonde Heavy Relic finish. The Masterbuilt instruments offered by the Fender Custom Shop are the pinnacle of the Fender range with each guitar crafted by just one of their highly talented Masterbuilders. From start to finish the Master Builder personally ensures that each guitar is built with the highest possible quality and to the exacting standards required. This particular guitar was built by Jason Smith, a Custom Shop veteran and son of longtime Fender employee and pivotal figure in modern Fenders history Dan Smith, Jason Smith grew up on Fender guitars joining the Fender Custom Shop in 1995, and in 2006 completed a five-year apprenticeship under acclaimed Senior Master Builder John English.

This excellent Telecaster features a White Blonde Heavy Relic Nitro finish over a lightweight, two piece Ash body. The one piece maple neck has 21 Sanko 6105 frets, a 9.5” radius with the Fender Custom Shop Nocaster “U” profile. Measurements are 0.860” at the first fret and 0.920” at the 12th fret. Pickups are the Hand-wired Twisted Tele in the neck and a Hand-wired 51 Nocaster in the bridge position. The guitar weighs an impressive 6.7lbs and feels perfectly balanced. The paint and ageing is exceptional, the guitar looks every part the well-loved 70-year-old guitar it’s based upon. The extra level of detail in the ageing process shows and that transfers into how the guitar feels in the hand. The hand-wound pickups sound great with all the classic Tele tones available. The flatpole Nocaster spec bridge pickup pairs excellently with the slightly hotter, Stratty Twisted Tele neck pickup.

With guitars of this quality it’s easy to see why the Custom Shop Masterbuilders are so highly regarded and have such a long wait time on pre-orders with some builders order sheets full. This guitar is in excellent condition with its original centre pocket Tweed G&G Case, bridge cover and certificate.
