Released in 2019 to celebrate six decades of arguably the most famous, holy grail instrument in Gibson history in the year many consider to be the zenith of its production. Excellent condition throughout it features an impressively figured book matched top, Mahogany and full hide glue construction, the quintessential ’59 neck profile taken from the original Les Paul, serial number 9 1953 and a pair of Gibson’s excellent sounding unpotted CustomBucker III pickups.
The prior decade has seen the Gibson Custom Shop develop increasingly accurate Reissues of the fabled late fifties Les Paul Standards, thanks to the all additional research and development the Collectors Choice and True Historic Series afforded, Gibson has more data on the original specific instruments, manufacturing processes and materials than ever before leading to one of the most accurate Reissues produced.
The guitar is in superb condition, weighs in at 8.7lbs and comes with its original Gibson Custom Case, Gold 60th Anniversary Certificate of Authenticity and Hangtags. A fantastic instrument for both Player and Collector alike.
