Super cool, limited run, single pickup ’54 Reissue Les Paul with a wonderful aged Goldtop finish. Commissioned and previously sold by the Music Zoo this single-Pickup ’54 Goldtop is built to the same specs as Historic '54 Les Paul Reissues with just a few minor spec changes.

Featuring a lightweight solid Mahogany body with a carved Maple top, a one piece solid Mahogany neck with a 22 fret, Indian Rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays with an aged Nitrocellulose Goldtop finish and natural back. The single P-90 is a soap bar variety located in the bridge position, hardware is Nickel plated, tuners are Gibson Deluxe vintage style with keystone buttons and the tailpiece is the wraparound type used by Gibson.

The guitar is in excellent condition throughout, the aged finish looks the part with subtle lacquer checking giving the impression of a played but cared for guitar. There are a couple of small marks to the heel of the guitar but other wise the original finish is in great condition. The frets have little to no wear and retain plenty of height with excellent playability. The 50’s rounded profile neck has measurements at the 1st fret of 23.16mm increasing to 25.15mm at the 12th fret, the nut width is 43.28mm. The single P-90 pickup has an output of 7.7K with a vintage voicing. Incredibly interactive like all good single pickup guitars, the volume and tone controls are able to take the guitar from a roar to a whisper with an intuitive adjustment.

The guitar weighs in at 7.8lbs, quite a remarkable weight given the solid Mahogany body and carved Maple top. Acoustically lively as many single pickup guitars tend to be it has an equally good amplified voice. The P-90 sounds pure and open with fantastic harmonic overtones that make you want to let big chords just hang.. Currently fitted with an aged soap bar P-90 cover, and an aged input jack plate with the original parts retained in the case.

The guitar comes with its original Gibson Custom brown Lifton style case with Custom Shop certificate, warranty card and assorted hangtags. With looks not too dissimilar to the popular Jared James Nichols Epiphone Signature model you can think of this Custom Shop creation as an upmarket Junior or a Hot Rodded Goldtop... either way it’s one great looking and sounding Les Paul!
