Superb Gibson ES-330 in great condition. Made in the Gibson Memphis facility it is an excellent recreation of a late ’50s example with dot inlays, "Mickey Mouse ears" and black plastics finished in an evocative VOS ‘Vintage Burst’ Sunburst.

Released in 1959 as the successor to the ES-225, the ES-330 was an instantly popular model for Gibson sharing styling cues from the recently released Thinline ES Range. Unlike the ES-335, ES-345 and ES-355 the ES-330 was a fully hollow instrument with a body/neck joint at the 16th fret. This gave the ES-330 a different feel and sound to the rest of the Thinline range. Like the ES-225 it was available in single (330T) and double (330TD) pickup options The model was popular throughout the sixties, selling well for Gibson with the model regularly out performing the rest of the thinline range. The model would disappear from catalogs in the early Seventies but would remain a popular alternative and was re-issued in the late-fifties guise we have here between 2012 and 2016.

Finished in Vintage Sunburst this 2013 guitar is in excellent condition throughout and plays fantastically. Retaining all the well-loved traits of the originals it features the all important fully hollow body with the body and neck joining at the 16th fret. A Rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays and 22 frets. A Pearl inlayed Gibson logo graces the headstock front. Tuners are individual 3-a-side with plastic tips. Pickups are excellently voiced Gibson P-90s specced for this model as under wound with Alnico II magnets. Hardware is nickel plated throughout including the traditional ‘Diamond’ trapeze tailpiece and ABR-1 Tune-o-matic. The Pickguard is the correct 5-ply wide bevel variety and the knobs are period specific amber Top Hats.

In use the guitar feels great. Featherweight at 5.6LBS it has a generous but comfortably profiled neck with pleasantly rolled fingerboard edges. The original frets show very little wear. Measuring 22.95 at the 1st fret the depth is comparable with vintage examples and 59 Les Paul Reissues. Nut width measures 43.49mm and the P-90’s measure 6.77K and 6.67K in the bridge and neck respectively. Under-wound, the P-90's sound fantastic, pairing perfectly with the thinline hollow body with big bold cleans, rich harmonics and lively when driven. They balance well with warmth from the neck pickup contrasting with the precision of the bridge pickup.

The guitar comes with its Gibson case and original Certificate of Authenticity.
