Superb, lightweight Fender Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster in an authentic Heavy Relic Nocaster Blonde finish perfectly complimented by the aged Maple fingerboard. A staple of the Fender Custom Shop, the Blackguard Tele is for many the definitive Telecaster. Leo’s original vision for Fenders first Electric guitar.

Featuring a featherweight Ash body with traditional Telecaster routes in a Heavy Relic Nocaster Blonde finish that allows the grain of the Ash to show through. The 21 fret, one-piece Maple neck has a Nocaster “U” profile with a 9.5” radius and 6105 Fretwire. The Shop Floor notes specifies lots of fingerboard wear and additional ageing to the back of the neck. Pickups are the popular combination of 51 Nocaster in the bridge and Twisted Tele in the neck, the electronics are wired in the modern style with the three way switch offering each pickup individually as well as together in the middle position with a Master Tone and Volume. Hardware and plastics are all period correct with Kluson tuners, 5 hole aged blackguard pickguard and Fender stamped bridge plate with brass saddles. Control knobs are the correct domed knurled variety and the switch tip is the earlier rounded type. The Shop Floor Traveller notes specifies flat head screws.

This 10 year+ Telecaster is in great condition with very little wear to the frets and any additional marks or wear has blended with the Factory ageing. Lively and loud acoustically, the tried and tested pickups combo sounds great with the authoritative Nocaster bridge pickup having plenty of presence without being spiky and the Twisted Tele neck pickup doing exactly what it was designed for - adding a little Strat sparkle to Tele neck position. The Neck has a traditional width nut measuring 42.43mm with a depth of 22.26mm at the 1st fret and increasing to 23.65mm at the 12th. The pickups are reading at 7.06 in the neck and 7.06 in the bridge.

A particularly nice looking and great playing example, this ’52 Tele Reissue benefits from some slightly restrained ageing resulting in a very authentic looking reissue. Sitting at a great weight of 7.2lbs the guitar comes with its original tweed Custom Shop Case, Certificate, Shop Floor Traveler and other assorted accessories.
