Excellent Fender Custom Shop Series ’56 Stratocaster from 2000. Part of the popular Time Machine Series of guitars that replicate year specific instruments this ’56 model has been part of the catalog since the early days of Custom Shop production.

Featuring a the classic Fender Fiesta Red finish over a lightweight Alder body with traditional Stratocaster routes. The guitar is nitrocellulose throughout with this guitar finished with the NOS level of ageing. The period correct Maple neck has a pleasantly figured to the maple with particularly attractive curl visible from the playing position, a 7.25 inch radius with 21 Vintage frets and the profile is the often sought 10/56 pattern. Three Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups all sound superb, effortlessly covering all of the iconic Strat tones. The guitar comes from factory with a full compliment of gold hardware, a Custom Shop option that Fender offered in the sixties as well.

The guitar is in great overall condition; especially for a 20 year old NOS guitar, there is little wear to the body at all save one barely visible bruise above the middle pickup. The neck equally is in great condition, the fingerboard is free from wear and other that a concealed bruise on the Skunk-stripe behind the 5th fret there is little wear to show. Under the single-ply white pickguard there are no modifications and the Custom Shop Stamps are all present. The gold hardware is in good condition with only the input plate and saddles showing any sign of wear to the plating.

The Fender Custom Shop guitars from the late ‘90s and early ‘00s have a real quality to them, the guitars are now 20+ years old with tonewoods that have matured and nicely settled. Production was still relatively small scale and many of todays Custom Shop Masterbuilders were still earning their title as a part of the Team Building staff.

The guitar comes with its original Tweed G&G Fender Case and Certificate. The case is in good condition but has some marks from storage.
