Limited Edition Gibson Art & Historic Division 10th Anniversary ’68 Les Paul Custom released in 2003 to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Gibson Art & Historic Division. Four special models were given the Collectors Run treatment with only 30 of each model produced, each featuring a Diamond White Sparkle finish and individual, unique and highly engraved gold hardware. The four models were released quarterly throughout 2003, comprising of the L-4 CES, ’68 Les Paul Custom, CS 356 and SG Custom.
The 10th Anniversary ’68 Les Paul Custom features an eye catching Diamond White sparkle Nitrocellulose finish throughout, Mahogany body with maple top, 24 3/4” scale mahogany neck with a large, comfortable C shape, 1 11/16th nut width and ebony fingerboard.Appointments include a double bound body with multiple purfling, Mother of Pearl Gibson Logo, diamond Custom inlay and block fingerboard inlays with a 10th Anniversary inlay at the 12th fret. Two excellent sounding Gibson ’57 Classic pickups are wired to the 4 control knobs (2x volume, 2x tone) and a 3-way switch.
The truss rod and pickup covers, tailpiece, pickguard and control cavity plates are plated 24 carat gold and hand engraved with our set numbered 23, dated 6-25-03 and signed by artist David Thornbery.
The guitar is in excellent condition, cased since new the Diamond White finish has darkened slightly in a few places from storage but otherwise the instrument is in fantastic condition, shows no signs of wear with no fret wear, lacquer checking or tarnishing to the gold hardware.
Weighing 10lbs the guitar comes with its original Gibson Art & Historic case.
