Excellent Gibson Original Jumbo Reissue from 2004. Crafted in the Bozeman Montana Gibson factory this Custom Shop Reissue features a period correct Adirondack Red Spruce Top with Mahogany back and rims, a Rosewood fingerboard and bar bridge, Gibson Script Logo and finished in an evocative mid-thirties deep Sunburst nitrocellulose finish with fire stripe guard.

Based upon the Gibson Jumbo, a guitar released in 1934 to compete with Martin’s new “D” Dreadnought series. This was the beginnings of Gibson’s 16” flattop guitar line and the slope-shoulder design has become incredibly popular evolving through the Jumbo 35 to the J-45 we know today.

The guitar features a 24 3/4” scale length with an unbound 19 fret rosewood fingerboard. The neck has a comfortable soft V profile with a 1 3/4” nut width. Tonally the guitar has all the classic Gibson J-45 characteristics but turned up to 11. It is a resonant, powerful guitar with great projection. The lows have plenty of depth and warmth, a full throated midrange combines with pleasant of rounded treble to give the guitar a throaty, dry and woody tone.

The guitar has been lightly played and is in great condition for a near 20 year old instrument. The guitar comes with the pictured maroon lined Gibson Custom Shop Case.
