Featuring a Natural, double bound Telecaster Custom Body made from Select Ash with an authentic feeling mid-sixties C shaped Maple neck with a 9.5″ radius Maple cap fingerboard with vintage size frets, a 25.5" scale length and a 1 5/8th" nut width. Pickups are a well paired Custom Shop Texas Special single coil Tele in the bridge with a Seymour Duncan ’59 SH-1N humbucking neck pickup. With a traditional 3-way switch with master volume and tone control. Hardware is all vintage inspired with a Fender American Vintage string thru body Tele bridge with the six barrel steel saddles, Vintage Kluson Style Tuners and a white 3 ply scratch plate.
The guitar shows very little signs of play wear at all and has been incredibly well kept. Playability is excellent and the neck feels particularly comfortable thanks to its wider than normal nut width. The nut measures a healthy 42.35mm with a depth at the first fret of 21.43mm. Whether on the lap or a strap the guitar balances well and weighs in at 7.6lbs with a good, lively acoustic ring. The combination of Texas Special and Seymour Duncan Humbucker pairs exceptionally well. The Texas Special has plenty of bite and presence without getting harsh and balances perfectly with the PAF voiced Seymour Duncan Humbucker. Pickups measure 7.6 in the neck and 9.2K in the bridge.
The guitar comes with its original tweed Fender Custom Shop case, Certificate and assorted case candy. It’s hard to imagine finding a better condition pre-owned Albert Colins Telecaster, whether a fan or not this model, with its great feeling neck and Single coil/ Humbucker combination offers something not found in the regular Custom Shop Catalog.
