2001 Martin OM-16GT, Natural #787209
Excellent Style 16 Martin OM from 2001 in great condition. Fast becoming a modern classic, the OM-16GT was released in 2000 and features solid tonewoods throughout, a hybrid of traditional and modern construction with a mixture of Gloss and Satin finishes. Featuring a spec list that goes well beyond its RRP and features that separate it from other Martin Orchestra Models. The guitar has a Solid Sitka Spruce top with Solid Genuine Mahogany back and sides, Madagascan Ebony fingerboard and Bridge. The Neck is Solid Spanish Cedar with a modified low oval profile. The nut width is 1 3/4” and the string spacing is 2 1/4”. Earlier examples such as this guitar feature a solid Ebony Fingerboard and Bridge, this was later changed in 2001 to Micarta.
The guitar is is great condition, the Gloss top is nice and clean with little evidence of use other than the usual light pick marks and polish swirls. The Satin finished back and sides are likewise in great condition. The wide 1 3/4”nut width is a fingerpickers delight and the modified low oval profile feels comfortable from nut to heel. It has a playable medium action with plenty of height still on the saddle. The original frets show little wear other than some light marking in the 1st position. The guitar comes with the optional LR Baggs I-beam pickup fitted and comes in the photographed Martin Case.
