Model Overview:

Superb hot-rodded players grade Gibson SG Junior in black.

The guitar came to us exactly as you see and had been modified extensively in the past. The good news is the guitar wants for absolutely nothing, sounds huge and plays really well with absolutely no issues.

The work that has been undertaken to the instrument has been done to a high standard and is as follows: the guitar has had a full re-finish in Black nitrocellulose lacquer, the finish work has been completed to a high level and looks great in the flesh, the electronics have been modded with the guitar currently fitted with an old 1970äó»s Ibanez Super 70 Humbucking pickup and two DiMarzio pots, the guitar has a tune-o-matic and stoptail arrangement replacing the original lightning bolt wraparound bridge, the pickguard and control knobs are modern reproduction parts but the three on a strip Kluson Tuners are original to the guitar with no evidence of any others having been previously fitted. The guitar has no obvious evidence of there having been any previous breaks or repairs to the headstock or heel joint, the neck profile is a larger äó»63 type profile with the äóÖ63 style heel joint. The original fretboard has been re-fretted, again to a high standard. The guitar was at some point fitted with an additional pickup with evidence under the pickguard of a filled humbucker route; the route is positioned so as not to have affected the neck heel joint. We speculate this was the reason for the re-finish in the solid colour.

Despite the changes, the guitar still has everything we are so fond about in Juniors, itäó»s featherweight at 5.7lbs, has a seasoned old growth Honduran mahogany body and neck with a simple intuitive control layout with one screaming hot pickup!

The guitar comes with the pictured modern Gibson case.
