Superb mid-seventies Gibson ES-335TD in great condition, lightweight and original with two great sounding Gibson T-tops, chrome hardware and a fast playing slim taper neck. The guitar has been very well maintained and looks fantastic in its deep Sunburst finish that shows the perfect amount of wear and patination.

The guitar features a three piece Mahogany neck with pearl inlayed Gibson logo and Crown to the headstock face. The dark Rosewood fingerboard is punctuated with small pearl block markers. The nut and frets are original. Tuners are double line, double ring Gibson Deluxe. The serial number is the decal type used from 1975 through to 1977 with the 99 prefix denoting 1975. The original finish is excellent throughout there are no breaks, repairs of touchups. There is minimal fading and very little checking and despite being a played instrument the guitar has been well cared for. The hardware is in great condition with little very tarnishing to the chrome plating and the 3-ply bevel edged pickguard has resisted warping or curling. The witch hat knobs are synonymous with this trapeze tailpiece era of 335 production. The original tailpiece is the only tailpiece to have been fitted. The chrome ABR-1 is the correct Patent number version used throughout this period. The electrics look undisturbed, pickups are the original Patent Stamped T-tops.

The guitar feels great to play, lightweight at 7.5 lbs, in part due to the slightly different construction of the body on these Seventies Thinlines which gives the guitar a loud, resonant acoustic voice, almost 330 like, that translates in to a lively amplified tone. The neck profile is a slim C shape with a little more depth than some of the earlier Seventies Gibson necks. Nut width is 40.53mm and the neck measures 21.48mm at the 1st fret and 24.46mm at the 12th. The frets are original but have lost some of their height and are fairly flat, but the guitar still plays nicely strung with 10-46 D’Addario EXL110s.

A great sounding and very playable near 50 years old guitar in fantastic original condition complete with original, purple lined Gibson Case.
