The Les Paul Classic has been a staple of the Gibson Catalog from its release in 1990, earlier examples can be identified from the ‘Les Paul Model’ script on the headstock. This was changed to ‘Les Paul Classic’ because of the confusion between these guitars and the 1960 Reissue Les Paul. The Les Paul Classic was joined by the Les Paul Plus and Premium Plus by 1993 and has been released in various variants to the present day.
The medium-slim C profile neck on this ’94 feels very comfortable to play and the 496R and 500T pickups excel, particularly at warm overdriven tones. Other appointments include nickel hardware, vintage style knobs, an ABR-1 bridge and Kluson tuners.
The guitar is in excellent overall condition, there are some slight marks to the back of the body but the impressive quilt top is nice and clean. The guitar comes with its original Gibson hard case.
