2008 Fender Custom Shop '60's Heavy Relic Strat - Olympic White
Fender Custom Shop '60s Relic Stratocaster in a very striking Olympic White Heavy Relic, a finish the Custom Shop does especially well with the relic work giving the guitar the look of a genuinely loved old instrument. Added to this the guitar has been owned and used as a touring guitar by Huey Morgan of the Fun Lovin' Criminals for many years. Nicknamed Eva, all of Huey's instruments are named after famous Hollywood starlets.
The guitar features an alder body finished with the aforementioned Olympic White nitrocellulose finish, a 21 fret 60's style oval 'C' neck with a slab rosewood fingerboard and medium jumbo fret wire. The neck has a has a 9.5" fingerboard radius and a very comfortable silky feel thanks to the fingerboard edges being rolled and the lacquer being knocked back to replicate years of play time. Two very popular Fender Texas Special pickups in the neck and middle position sound great with boosted bass and mids and a little added sparkle on the high-end. The bridge pickup is the legendary Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker, a classic pickup that has been a go-to for nearly four decades now. The JB humbucker is tapped to the inside coil and routed to the S1 switch located on the volume pot to give the classic Strat position 2 sound opening up a huge range of tonal options.
The guitar comes with a Fender hard case and Custom Shop Floor Traveller detailing the specs, along with a signed letter of provenance from Huey.
