A design first released in 1958 but still looking as futuristic over 60 years later, the Gibson Explorer was introduced alongside the equally futuristic looking Flying V. Thanks in part to its unique appearance and extreme rarity of original ‘50s examples the Explorer has been mostly in production since it’s first reintroduction in 1975.

Always popular this example looks great it original Ebony finish with contrasting white pickguard. The guitar has seen minimal use with next to no fret wear. The dual uncovered Gibson pickups sound great both clean and overdriven. The neck is close to what Gibson would term the ’60s slim profile, access is excellent thanks to the deep cutaway. The guitar weighs a lively 8.5 lbs and balances well in the lap or on a strap.
The guitar is in excellent condition with the odd scratch and a little worming to the finish on the back and a small nick to the rear of the headstock.

The guitar comes with its original Gibson case, warranty card and booklet.
