Excellent Gibson ES-390 in eye-catching Cherry Red finish with Mini-Humbuckers, Block inlays and Diamond Trapeze tailpiece. Made in the Gibson Memphis factory in 2013 the guitar is in excellent original condition with it’s OHSC, Certificate and Warranty card.
A relative of Gibsons highly popular ES-339 the ES-390 can be thought of as a smaller, compact bodied ES-330. Its fully hollow body is constructed from a maple and Poplar ply with a solid Mahogany neck with a 19 fret body joint. The Rosewood fingerboard has Block inlays. Pickups are Gibson Mini-humbuckers with traditional 3-way and Volume and Tone controls. Appointments are vintage inspired with a Nickel hardware throughout. Keystone Deluxe tuners, Wide-bevel multi-ply pickguard and Diamond Tailpiece.
The guitar is in great condition, the Cherry Finish is glossy and vibrant and the fingerboard is a particularly dark piece of Rosewood, There are small bumps and bruises and notably there is a small ding inside the treble cutaway and the back of the neck has some wear but there is nothing to detract from the feel and appearance of a 10 year old played guitar. The neck measures 42.85 mm wide at the nut with a depth at the 1st fret of 21.49mm filling out to 24.71 at the 12th fret. The original frets are in great condition and the guitar plays well with a low action.
The ES-390 is quite a disarming instrument, very comfortable with excellent playability and plenty of characterful tones. The guitar weighs a featherweight 5.4lbs. It has a loud acoustic voice that translates to a very lively amplified tone with plenty of harmonic content. The mini-humbuckers have the single-coil meets humbucker tonality they are known for, the bridge pickup has a useful brightness and the neck has a clean warmth that really chimes. The neck has a 60's vintage inspired profile with rounded shoulders.
