Introduced in 2014 the J-15 was built in the same factory by the same craftsmen and women with the same methods as the fabled J-45s and J-200s. It features all solid North American tone woods, a Sitka spruce top, American Walnut back and sides and a Maple neck with Walnut fingerboard and bridge. The finish is full gloss nitro- cellulose with other appointments including a bound body with elegant Abalone soundhole rosette. The guitar is fitted as standard with the excellent LR Baggs Element under saddle pickup.
The guitar is in excellent condition throughout and plays well. The slope-shoulder dreadnought design in combination with the all American tone woods give the J-15 quite a different voice to the J-45. It has less thump and concentrated mids than a J-45. There is an added warmth but no loss of clarity with good string separation.
The guitar comes with it’s original Gibson Case and will ship without a battery.
