Lovely playing and great looking Montego Black Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster from 2004. The Fender American Deluxe Series represented the latest in Stratocaster technology and innovation on release and was in production from 1998 until 2016. Instruments included increased features, an elevated spec and Fender Noiseless pickups in comparison to the American Standard Series of guitars.

The Montego Black and Gold Vinyl pickguard of this guitar makes for quite the eye-catching instrument. The black pickup covers have been swapped out for a more traditional looking white set but otherwise the guitar is stock. The guitar would make for a very convincing Gilmour Black Strat look-alike with a simple pickguard swap. 2004 was the first year of the new refreshed American Deluxe and one of the new features was the satin urethane neck, it has a C profile that feels comfortable in the hand with rolled fingerboard edges and a smooth feel, combined with the extra contouring at the heel joint for ease of access all leads to a very playable neck.  The tuners are staggered locking tuners designed by Schaller and the tremolo system is the well-engineered two-point tremolo system with solid stainless steel block saddles.  Pickups are Fender Noiseless Pickups wired with a traditional five-way switch, volume and tone controls and cleverly located S-1 switch for additional tonal configurations. The guitar is in good used condition, the body has feint polishing swirls but is otherwise blemish free, the frets show some light wear and the neck finish is starting to feel nicely played in. Freshly strung it plays well and sounds excellent. The guitar comes with it’s original Fender molded case and tags.
