Excellent 1978 Fender Stratocaster in Natural over Ash with Maple Neck and Fingerboard. The guitar has had a few well chosen upgrades that help to elevate this guitar into a real player and a great example of a late Seventies Stratocaster.

Featuring an Ash body with original factory natural finish with no additional routes or modifications. A Maple neck with bullet truss rod, two string retainers and skunk stripe. Body and neck both have Fender codes and stamps as to be expected with the neck bearing a ’78 date code.  The guitar has two flatpole piece single coil Stratocaster pickups dating to '78 with the third currently replaced with a Bare Knuckle Pickups Sinner in the bridge position with the original retained in the case. 3 CTS pot are correct with two readable codes dating them to late '77 and early '78, the third is under solder.

The guitar retains its black Fender plastics with the pickguard bearing a sticker with matching serial number to the headstock. The tremolo has been upgraded to the excellent Callaham unit and works well. The guitar also benefits from a refret with med-jumbo fret wire and the front of the neck has been re-lacquered.

The guitar sounds great and plays very well thanks to the refret and the new Callaham tremolo. The Bareknuckle Sinner is a higher output pickup compared to the original and balances very well in the bridge position and with the more dominant neck pickup.

All in all an excellent player grade 70s Strat complete with aftermarket hard case
