Charming late sixties/early seventies Gibson B-25 in Natural. A sweet sounding guitar that sounds great with lots of the well earned patina that we all love.

The Gibson B-25 can trace its lineage back to the wartime LG series of guitars in particular the range topping LG-2 and LG-3. The LG-2 being the Sunburst and LG-3 the Natural variant of the same model. The B-25 was released in late 1962 with the Natural B-25N following in 1963. A Small bodied instrument, the B-25 has a 14.25 inch wide body with a spruce top, Mahogany Back and sides, a Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard with dot fingerboard inlays. Internally the B-25 is X braced unlike the earlier ladder braced LG-0 and LG-1 Until 1966 the model used a Plastic Bridge with ceramic Saddle before returning to the Rosewood bridge that only the earliest B-25’s received.

Dating to 1970 with a 900000 range serial number this guitar has features of both 1969 and 1970. There is no volute or Made in USA Stamp to the neck or headstock and the guitar retains its belly above bridge and adjustable Rosewood saddle. The guitar has lots of vibe and has obviously seen some use as can be evidenced by the wear to the sound hole. The lacquer has plenty of checking and there are knocks and bumps throughout with the guitar feeling all the better for it. The back of the guitar has a couple of small cracks that don’t go all the way through but the top and sides are crack free. The guitar has had a neck reset previously leaving the saddle at a great height with adjustment either way should it be needed. The neck has the typically slim taper C profile preferred by Gibson at this time with a nut width of 39.96mm. Although no pickup is included the endpin is enlarged to allow the new owner to fit their own with ease.

A great sounding guitar with plenty of character, this B-25N comes with a later hard case and thanks to the neck reset this 54 year old guitar is good to go for a many years yet!
