Very nice 2002 Gibson Les Paul Standard in a non-more-rocking Black finish. A stock guitar throughout it combines the standard spec and appointments for this highly regarded era of production with a fast playing ’60s spec neck. Naturally aged at a little over 20 years old now, the guitar looks great with a played but well looked after appearance.

Featuring a mahogany body and neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard with traditional trapezoid inlays. 2002 was the year that would see Gibson refresh the specs of the Les Paul Standard offering the guitar with either a 50’s or 60’s neck profile. As part of the refresh the guitars were released with Kluson tuners instead of Grovers, thinner body and neck binding than the previous edition and later 50's style gold bonnet knobs with no pointers for a cleaner look. This particular Les Paul looks fantastic in its Ebony black finish with the hardware showing the patination of 20 years of use. The original pickguard has been removed but comes with the guitar.

Despite being the slimmer of the two offered options the ‘60s’ profile is by no means as slim as original early sixties examples can be with a depth at the 1st fret of 20.71mm filling out to 22.69mm at the the 12th fret. The nut width is the traditional 1, 11/16th wide or 42.87 measured with callipers. The frets are in excellent condition with little to no wear showing. Pickups in this guitar are the stock, excellent sounding set of Gibson Burstbuckers measuring 7.8K and 7.5K in the neck and bridge position.

The guitar weights 9.8lbs and comes with its original Gibson case.
