Stunning 2014 Gibson Custom 1964 Reissue SJ-200 made in the Gibson Montana factory. A limited Edition run of 40 instruments with period correct features including ABR-1 and Solid Moustache bridge with pearl inlays.

The J-200 is the ‘King of the Flattops’ and has been in production since the 1930’s as Gibson’s flagship, top of the range flat top acoustic. Featuring a Sitka spruce top with figured Maple back and sides, three-piece Maple neck with bound Rosewood fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Crown inlays and a bound headstock with Mother of Pearl Crown and Gibson Logo. Appointments are suitably tasteful with a multi-ply bound top, back and double ring rosette, traditional flower motif pickguard, pearl inlayed Moustache bridge and gold plated tuners and bridge. Finished in a very authentic looking, hand sprayed custom Tri-burst finish given the apt Montana Sunset title by the Custom Shop.

The guitar is in very good original condition with no issues, repairs or significant wear. It feel great to play thanks to its accurate ’64 neck profile and comfortable 43mm nut width. One of the unique features of this model is the Adjustable ABR-1 tune-o-matic set in to the Moustache Bridge. A feature used historically on the SJ-200 and the Dove during the early-sixties. The design gives J-200s from this period a different sound to those produced earlier and the Standard models offered today. Thanks to the repositioning of the bridge pins to further back in the Moustache bridge there is less break angle over the saddles helping the guitar to sound open and bright and a touch less tight and boxy than some J-200s can be.

A great songwriters companion the J-200 is as comfortable in the Studio as it is on Stage. The guitar comes with its original Custom Shop case and Certificate of Authenticity
