Nice and vibey 25 year old Gibson ES-335 Dot Reissue in an ever popular Cherry finish that does a great job of highlighting the tops figuring. Always popular guitars, late nineties Gibsons ES-335’s were available with either a plain or figured Maple top. These models are identical other than the level of figuring, and can be identified by their model codes: ESDP for plain top models, and ESDT for figured top models.

The guitar is in excellent original condition and features a figured Maple top, back and sides, the fingerboard is a particularly nice dark piece of Indian Rosewood with dot inlay position markers. The Mahogany neck has a comfortable medium-slim profile with a measurement at the 1st fret of 20.92mm filling up to 23.43mm at the 12th fret, the nut width is 42.84mm. The pickups are Gibson '57 Classic Humbuckers with DC readings of 8.26 and 8.16 in the neck and the bridge respectively. The hardware comprises Grover Rotomatic tuners, Gibson ABR-1 bridge and stop-tailpiece, all hardware is nickel plated. The pickguard is the short black 5-ply bevelled type and knobs are the late 50’s style black bonnet variety.

The guitar is great condition, it has been played but well cared for. Frets have very little wear and plenty of height, the Indian Rosewood fingerboard is dark and wear free. The guitars finish is bright and vibrant with only light dulling to the Nickel hardware hinting at the guitars 25 year age. There is a feint mark to the guitars back but otherwise aside from light polishing marks the guitar is free from wear. The '57 Classic pickups work well in the thinline ES-335 with its Alnico II magnets, balanced coils and ‘hot PAF’ output giving the guitar smooth, warm tone with excellent articulation.

The guitar weighs in at a decent 8.5lbs and comes with its original Gibson Case and Warranty card.
