20 year old Fender Stratocaster in a tasteful Lake Placid Blue finish with Slab Rosewood fingerboard. Part of the popular Time Machine Series that the Fender Custom Shop have run from the late 90’s to today. Early Custom Shop relic finishes have a distinctive quality and this example has nicely aged over the last 20 plus years and given the guitar a character of it’s own.

Featuring an aged Lake Placid Blue finish over a lightweight Alder body with traditional routs. The 21 fret Maple neck has a dark Rosewood fingerboard with 7.25” radius, the profile is the comfortable early ’60s C shape carve. The nut measures 42.3mm wide with 1st and 12th fret depth measurements of 20.68mm and 23.99mm. The medium jumbo frets have plenty of height and show little wear.  Fitted with a five-way switch with a replacement PIO capacitor. The tone control has been moved from the middle pickup over to the bridge pickup; a popular mod to help tame a little treble from the bridge pickup. The Pickups are the stock Custom ’60s single coil Strat pickups measuring 5.69K, 5.71K and 5.69K in the Neck, Middle and Bridge respectively from the output jack. The electronics are mounted to a 3-ply mint green guard and sound excellent with the 5-way switch allowing full range of Stratocaster tones and the classic early 60’s sparkle they are associated with. The hardware is period appropriate and Nickel plated throughout.

A great playing guitar with 20 years of natural ageing it weighs in at 7.9lbs and comes with its original (scuffed) case and Certificate.
