Superb 2005 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Custom Telecaster Relic in a tastefully aged faded Sunburst. An excellent playing example and a great weight at just under 7lbs. 1 of 100 that were made available at the 2006 Winter NAAM show. The guitar comes with its LTD ED Custom Shop Case and Certificate.

Featuring a lightweight, Double-bound Ash body with traditional Telecaster routes in a Relic faded Sunburst finish that suits the early sixties appearance well. The 21 fret Maple neck has a slab Indian Rosewood fingerboard with wide spaced clay dot position markers. The neck has an accurate late fifties/early sixties feel with a slim oval profile, measuring 20.2mm at the 1st fret and increasing to 23.95mm at the 12th. The fingerboard has a 9.5” radius with Medium Jumbo fret wire, the nut width is the standard Fender width with a measurement of 42.29mm.

The guitar comes with one of Fenders more popular Telecaster pickups combos with a 51 Nocaster in the Bridge and a Twisted Tele in the Neck. The electronics are wired in the post ’67 modern style with the three way switch offering each pickup individually as well as in parallel in the middle position. The bridge pickup has a reading of 7.25K with the neck balancing at 7.69K. Hardware and plastics are all period correct with Kluson tuners, 8-hole pickguard and Fender stamped bridge plate with brass saddles as opposed to steel.

There is a degree of fret wear indicating the guitar has been played, cosmetically it is great condition with and additional bumps or marks blending in to the tastefully aged relic finish. The guitar plays well, the lower frets not impending playability at all. The tried and tested pickups combo sounds great with the authoritative Nocaster bridge pickup having plenty of presence without being spiky and the Twisted Tele neck pickup doing exactly what it was designed for - adding a little Strat sonics to the Tele neck position.

In all a great Limited Edition Custom Telecaster that looks the part, plays well and sounds great!
