Lovely playing Telecaster Custom Partscaster that those familiar with Guitarist Magazine may well recognise. Bought some years back as a great guitar with some changes and a lot of potential it now sports a fantastic Aged Mandan Red Finish thanks to the expert work of Scott Cameron of Golden Era Aged Guitars and a fully upgraded wiring loom impeccably installed by Ernie McMillan. Scroll through the photos to see an article on the guitar from Guitarist Magazine.

Featuring a great playing genuine 1973 Fender Telecaster Custom neck with Rosewood fingerboard, the neck has a some lovely figuring and has been refretted and a new nut fitted. Tuners are original Fender branded Schaller tuners and likely belong to the neck. The aftermarket Warmouth body is made of Alder and given the guitars overall weight is a light example. The finish is a superbly applied and aged Nitrocellulose Mandan Red by the afore mentioned Golden Era Aged Guitars. The neck plate matches the neck with a serial number that falls into the given range for 1973. The Pickups are modern replacements, all expertly wired to an impeccably tidy loom with four 4x 550k CTS pots, 2 Sprague .022uF Capacitors and a Switchcraft three-way switch. Pickguard and bridge appear to be original and a match to the neck. The ‘Amp’ style Volume and tone knobs are later replacements.

The neck feels great to play with a tidy refret and well cut nut. The profile is the consistent C shape you often see in the early Seventies with a 41.06mm nut width and measurements at the first and twelfth fret of 20.99 and 22.45mm. The guitar weights a very comfortable 7.5lbs. The guitar comes with a gig bag.

A great playing guitar with a great backstory and lots of cool tones easily on tap thanks to its combination of single coil and Humbucker pickups.
