Stunning early Rosewood Dreadnought from internationally acclaimed luthier Don Musser. Quietly building acoustic guitars in the Southwest of the USA since 1976 his guitars have been seen in the hands of artists and players such as Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Part of his living is made through selling tonewood to other luthiers, allowing him to select the finest woods available for his own elegantly refined instruments. This early guitar is number 12 and was completed in 1978. It features an incredibly tight grained Western Red Cedar top, old growth, straight grained Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, a Brazilian Rosewood Bridge and Fingerboard and very unusually a solid Brazilian Rosewood neck.

Not only are Musser guitars highly regarded for the impeccably selected tonewoods they are precisely built by hand with traditional methods, finished with a subtle elegance and refinement and have quite a formidable tone. This guitar has excellent clarity and detail, the bass response is warm and well defined without being overbearing. The higher registers have a presence and cut that is focused and sweet. The guitar has phenomenal sustain that blooms with an amazing range of harmonics that swell in waves. Sonically this guitar is certainly something very special.

The guitar has a comfortable soft V profile to the neck that measures 21.98mm at the 1st fret. it has a 44.89mm nut width with a 59.19mm strings spacing at the bridge.

A wonderful opportunity to acquire one of Don Musser's earliest instruments.
