2010 PRS McCarty, Tobacco Sunburst
By PRS
£2,250.00
Sharp looking PRS McCarty from 2010 in a deep McCarty Tobacco Sunburst finish that perfectly frames the deep contours of the distinctive PRS Maple top carve. The McCarty was introduced in to the PRS line in 1994 as a tribute to the late, great Ted McCarty, Gibson Guitars CEO during the 50’s and 60’s Golden-era at Gibson and close personal friend and mentor of Paul Reed Smith.
Featuring a nicely figured curly Maple top with the popular McCarty Tobacco Sunburst finish. The back and neck are Mahogany and the fingerboard is East Indian Rosewood inlayed with Moon inlays. The guitar is fitted with a set of McCarty Treble and Bass Humbuckers wired to a 3-way switch, Vol and Tone knobs with a coil tap available on the tone pot. The Hardware is suitably Vintage oriented with Keystone Style tuners and an intonated PRS stoptail. The neck is the pattern (Wide/Fat profile) and the scale length is 25”.
The McCarty model features a thicker mahogany back of the body compared to the Custom 22 and 24 Models changing the ratio of Mahogany to Maple. This can be heard giving the guitar more low end when compared to the somewhat more mid-focussed Custom 24 and 22 models. The McCarty Treble and Bass pickups sound great with quoted outputs of 9K in the bridge and 8K in the neck they balance well. The coil tap is very usable giving single coil tones without the huge drop in volume.
The guitar is in great condition, there is very light marking and evidence of play wear but overall the guitar is in superb condition. Comes with its original case and warranty card.
