The guitar features the traits expected for this period of production with a Thinline body with short centerblock, a three piece Mahogany neck with small volute, Pearl Gibson logo and Crown to the headstock face, a Rosewood fingerboard punctuated with small pearl block markers. The nut and frets are original. Tuners are double line, double ring Kluson Deluxe. The serial number is stamped above the Made in USA Stamp. The original finish is excellent throughout with no dulling or checking to the lacquer. There are no breaks, repairs of touchups. Electronics comprise two Pat. No Sticker pickups and a quart of pots with source codes dating to the earlier part of 1973. The neck pickup cover is untouched but the bridge pickup cover has been removed and an additional earth wire attached, this appears to be original and the rest of the solder all is undisturbed.

The factory Chrome hardware is in great condition with no tarnishing to the chrome plating and the 3-ply bevel edged pickguard has resisted warping or curling. The witch hat knobs that are synonymous with this trapeze tailpiece era of 335 production are present. The original tailpiece is the only tailpiece to have been fitted. The chrome ABR-1 is the correct Patent number version used for this era.

The guitar has a great feeling Slim C taper neck profile that really fills out towards the body join. Nut width is 40mm and the neck measures 20.07mm at the 1st fret and 25.10mm at the 12th. The original frets have been dressed and playability remains excellent.

A great looking and playing instrument that wants for nothing. Underestimate 3 series guitars from this era at your peril. The guitar sounds excellent; the Pat. No Humbuckers are a consistently great sounding pickups and it has a loud, resonant acoustic ring that translates into a powerful amplified voice. The guitar appeals to players and collectors alike and comes with its original Gibson case in equally good condition.
