Clean, original '74 Tele Custom in black. Released in 1972, the Telecaster Custom model was one of three Fender guitars that featured the Seth Lover designed wide range humbucker. Today these pickups are highly regarded thanks to their versatility, dynamic range and clarity. Due to the obsoletion on the CuNiFe magnets used on the originals they are becoming increasingly collectable and as such more valuable.
This example weighs in at a comfortable 8.1lbs, and the neck is a really nice medium C profile. It's been refretted in the past with slightly wider fretwire, and under the hood it's had some solder work done at some point too. It is an early 6-saddle bridge model so it intonates well, and the original F-plate tuners keep things nice and stable.
The neck humbucker produces some really well balanced warm tones when clean, but comes into it's own when driven creating an articulate but throaty sound with a fantastic low-end response whilst retaining clarity. The bridge pickup gives you classic Tele twang and aggression when driven so between the two you have a really wide variety of options.
A stunning looking guitar in its original black finish, it has Keef vibes in abundance! Complete with non original hard case.
