Featuring a lightweight Alder body with NOS sunburst Nitrocellulose finish, a 21 fret slab Rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5”radius and medium Jumbo frets. Being an NOS model the neck has a smooth finish and is free from simulated wear. The neck has an accurate late 50’s oval profile measuring 20.47mm at the 1st fret tapering to 24.08mm at the 12th with a comfortable 42.29mm nut width. The electronics are mounted to a 3-ply mint green pickguard and feature a trio of signed Fender Handwound ’59 pickups wired in Fender's modern method with a five-way switch and tone control on all three pickups. The pickups measure 5.56K, 5.98K and 5.54K in the Neck, Middle and Bridge respectively. The hardware is period appropriate and Nickel plated throughout.
In a world of distressed and aged guitars this NOS example is a nice change, the guitar has been played as can be evidenced in the slight dulling to the finish to areas of the body and neck, this aside the guitar is exemplarily in condition throughout. Effortlessly playable and wonderful sounding the Fender Custom Shop has been consistently producing great guitars for over 30 years and this Stratocaster is no exception.
Weighing in a very reasonable 7.5lbs the guitar comes with its original chocolate Tolex Custom Shop G&G case with certificate.
