Description
Lovely Fender Custom Shop 1960 Stratocaster in an aged Olympic White finish. This great looking guitar has a comfortable ’60 Slab board spec neck and features an upgraded set of the highly regarded Seymour Duncan Scooped MJ Custom Shop pickups.

Featuring an Alder body with a Relic Olympic White Nitrocellulose finish, a 21 fret Slab Rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5” radius and medium Jumbo 6150 frets. The previous owner has added the pin up girl to the back of the body but otherwise there are no alterations. The neck has a lightly aged finish and is free from heavy simulated wear. The neck has an accurate early 60’s oval profile measuring 20.21mm at the 1st fret tapering to 23.93mm at the 12th with a comfortable 42.03mm nut width. The electronics are mounted to a 3-ply pickguard and feature a trio of Seymour Duncan Custom Shop MJ Scooped pickups wound by Custom Shop Manager Maricela Juarez. Designed to replicate the now discontinued but highly sought Fender Big Dipper pickups fitted to the John Mayer Signature Strat. The electronics are mounted to a 3-ply mint green and sound excellent with the 5-way switch allowing full range of classic Stratocaster tones. The pickups measure 5.76K, 6.05K and 6.96K in the Neck, Middle and Bridge respectively. The hardware and plastics are all correct to the guitar, period correct and nickel plated throughout.

Effortlessly playable and wonderful sounding the Fender Custom Shop has been consistently producing great guitars for over 30 years and this Stratocaster is no exception. The Seymour Duncan Pickups are excellent, capturing the naturally scooped tones of Johns original 90’s SRV Strat. Weighing in at a very good 7.6bs the guitar comes with its original Tolex Custom Shop G&G case and Certificate.
